After introducing Megabook T1 in 2023, Tecno is back rocking the computer tech industry with the MEGABOOK T16 Pro 2024 Ultra. Unveiled during the MWC2024, this AI-powered laptop vows to redefine your digital journey with features that transcend the ordinary.
But digging deeper, I uncovered these hidden flaws I’d overlooked if I had focused on the fine print.
Niche Brand
Let’s begin with the brand niche. Tecno has built a strong brand as a mobile producer. It’s not well-established in the laptop market. And so this is a company venturing into manufacturing a product outside its realm of expertise.
The TECNO MEGABOOK T16 Pro 2024 Ultra, being Tecno’s second laptop release, will most likely present some serious defects now hidden from us.
I’m not one of those buyers who believe in more recognized brands. But when it comes to laptop purchases, I’d rather go for Apple, HP, DELL, Samsung, Microsoft, Lenovo, or other known brands than put money in “a product on trial.”
Accidental Touches
The TECNO MEGABOOK T16 Pro 2024 features thin bezels to give it a sleek and more modern look. The feature also improves the viewing experience and makes the laptop easy to maneuver.
However, I checked this laptop and I feel like Tecno just overdid thin bezels. And with that comes the increased likelihood of accidental touches when using the TECNO MEGABOOK T16 Pro 2024.
New features
For the first time, Tecno introduces a couple of new features that even the most established computer makers haven’t tested.
Take 99.99Wh, for instance. Tecno envisioned the battery would serve the TECNO MEGABOOK T16 Pro 2024 for 22 hours from a single charge.
The battery might have been tested, sure; but those tests are just experimental! Who knows how the 99.99Wh battery will turn out when users put it to real usage?
Also, unforeseen glitches could arise from cutting-edge technologies like in-built AI software integrated into the TECNO MEGABOOK T16 Pro 2024. This happened to LG and optimizations came later to counter glitches as they emerged.
In the LG case, updates caused further compatibilities. Many users were disappointed with LG smartphone. Eventually, LG called it a quit.
Should the same happen to the TECNO MEGABOOK T16 Pro 2024, early adaptors might regret it. I’d rather not be one.
Price Point
The MEGABOOK T16 Pro 2024 Ultra offers impressive specs, but the price tag might be steep. I don’t mind paying high, but I want to spend more on a product I’m 99.99% is worth the cost.
For those seeking AI-powered excellence in a laptop, The MEGABOOK T16 Pro 2024 Ultra is a compelling choice. However, I’d buy it.
